There’s a whole host of features packed into the Tourneo Custom to improve the drive and feel. For example, the power-adjustable, heated seat and adjustable steering wheel provide the perfect ergonomic driving space for you. Whilst the response and feedback through the controls also give you confidence in all conditions, at high speed, wet or dry and laden or un-laden. Then there’s the suite of driver assistance technologies including Hill Start Assist, Torque Vectoring Control and Side Wind Mitigation.
CRUISE CONTROL THAT CAN ADAPT AUTOMATICALLY
With the optional Adaptive Cruise Control technology, you choose the speed you want to drive at and the system will maintain it. If the built-in RADAR sensor detects a vehicle ahead, it will slow your vehicle to maintain a pre-set distance. Once the road in front is clear, the system will accelerate to your chosen speed. Forward Alert is a technology that comes as part of Adaptive Cruise Control and is designed to warn you if you accidentally get too close to the vehicle in front.
LET TOURNEO DO THE PARKING
Parking in a busy street or a tight space can be tricky. But Active Park Assist makes it easier than you’d ever believe possible. Once activated, the system can identify a suitable perpendicular or parallel space, and then steer you in. All you need to do is brake or accelerate as directed. The technology can even steer you out of a parking space when you want to get back on the road. ‘Available at extra cost’
TURNING MADE EASY
The Tourneo Custom has a turning circle of just 11.6 metres, which is impressive for a vehicle of its size. This makes city driving, with all its parking, picking up and dropping off, so much easier.
The Tourneo Custom Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) utilises two separate power sources. A battery powered electric motor drives the vehicle, while its 1.0L Ford EcoBoost petrol engine works to recharge the hybrid battery and extend the vehicle’s range.
The driver can select between four available EV modes, including EV Now which allows you to drive with zero emissions on electric-only power, this can take you up to a targeted range of 33 miles (55 kilometres) using the electric motor alone (range may vary depending on the vehicle, weather conditions and driving behaviour).
The PHEV battery can also be recharged using most AC network charging points.
The new Ford Active series brings robust capability to the Tourneo Custom. There’s space for up to eight people, so large groups or active families can sit in comfort, with plenty of room for luggage or equipment. And versatile, removeable seats let you maximise loadspace or alter the seating arrangement.
An optional mechanical Limited-Slip Differential increases capability, helping you get your passengers to even the remotest locations. And an imposing new exterior design lets people know the Ford Tourneo Custom Active is a people carrier that means business, whether you’re chauffeuring people in the city or taking the family for a weekend adventure.
